WILLIAM HOEGH RITES HELD HERE SUNDAY

William Hoegh was born on a farm in Audubon county, Iowa, November 21, 1877, and passed away at his home in Chariton, Iowa, June 3, 1948.

He leaves surviving him, his wife, Annie K. Hoegh; three sons, Theodore N. Hoegh, of Williamson; Harry L. Hoegh, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; and Leo A. Hoegh, of Chariton; and four grandchildren, Suzanne, Dennis, Betty and Kristin Hoegh.

In the early years of his life Mr. Hoegh was successfully engaged in farming in Audubon county. On March 4, 1903, he married Annie K. Johnson, his devoted wife. He entered the banking business in 1911, remaining in this work until 1931. In 1932 he moved to Chariton, where a operated a National Farm Loan association until his decease.

He had served in the Federal Land Bank system since it was established in 1917. In the latter work he served faithfully the people of Iowa. During the trying days of the 30's his association made loans to over one thousand farmers, enabling hundreds to save their farm homes. Throughout his life he has rendered service to the people and his community.

He was an active member of the Danish Lutheran church in Shelby county, serving on its board and as Sunday school superintendent for many years. He was a kind a devoted husband and father. While his duties and responsibilities limited his own education, he provided his sons with extensive higher education.

He leaves, mourning his passing, not only his family but many relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at the Beardsley Funeral Home Sunday with the service being in charge of the Rev. W. A. Samp, of the Methodist church.
