CHARLESTON - Charles R. Beebe, 76, of Charleston (formerly of Helena, Montana) passed away July 1, 2008 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center.

Funeral Services will be July 10, 2008 at the Franzen-Davis Funeral Home, 118 N. 3rd Street, Livingston, Montana 59047, after which Chuck will be laid to rest in Mountain View Cemetery alongside his loving wife, Sandy, who preceded him in death in 2004.

Chuck was born July 5, 1931 to Earl and Ivy Beebe in Broadview, Montana. He graduated from Wilsall High School in 1950 and attended Montana State University where he played football. Chuck served with distinction as a Marine sergeant in Korea (1953-56), earning several commendations including a Presidential Unit Citation. He later completed several trade school degrees and became a certified machinist, working for Garrett Freightlines for over 20 years (in Billings, Montana and later in Salt Lake City, Utah). After retiring, Chuck devoted his time to his great passions of fishing, snowmobiling, gardening, raising his pugs, and traveling the country visiting his children and grandchildren.

Chuck married Sandra E. Lee, November 21, 1959, and is survived by their four children: Kim (Jeff) Kalled of Wolfeboro, New Hampshire, Randall (Christiane) Beebe of Charleston, Illinois, Darren (Gretchen) Beebe of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Kelly (Robert) Nielsen of Athens, Georgia. Chuck was also blessed with nine grandchildren: Jessica, Mareike, Malcolm, Alec, Anwyn, Winston, Sophia, Quentin and Karl.

Also surviving are two sisters, Alice Inabnit of Wilsall, Montana and Margaret Ahern of Bozeman, Montana; and two brothers, Arthur and Lester Beebe both of Helena, Montana.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Coles County Animal Shelter 6818 N. County Road 1120 E. Charleston, Illinois 61920.
