Hazel Mikeal Anderson, age 83, of Lenoir, died Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at Lenoir HealthCare Center. She was born June 25, 1927 in Caldwell County to the late William Lloyd and Opha Kincaid Mikeal. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph C. Anderson Sr; one brother, Joseph P. Mikeal; and one sister, Vestal Parton. Mrs. Anderson was a homemaker and member of Mt. Grove Church.
Survivors include her son, Ralph Clifton "Cliff" Anderson Jr. and wife Marty of Lenoir; brother, William W. "Sonny" Mikeal and wife Peggy of Lenoir; sisters, Lois M. Jones, Mary Wilma Kent and husband Horry Sr., Doris "Dottie" M. McGallard and husband Doug, all of Lenoir, Marjorie M. Braswell of Hickory, Emma M. Hamrick and husband L.G. and Ruby M. Nelson and husband Dan, both of Morganton; and grandchildren, Mikeal Anderson and Joseph Anderson.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 10, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Dr. H. Clifton Black. Interment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers will be: Mikeal Kent, Horry Kent, Bill Curtis, Dale Hamby, Roger McLeod and Jonathan Mikeal.
