Texas, County Marriage Records, 1837-1965 - Mr. William Lee Byers - 09 Mar 1918 • Ellis, Texas, United States • Spouse: Miss Maudie Mitchell
Texas, County Marriage Index, 1837-1977 - Albert Penner - 14 May 1923, Ellis, Texas, United States • Spouse: Miss Maud Byers (the Miss before Maud's name is interesting considering this was her 2nd marriage)
1930 Census • Ellis County, Texas, USA - Albert M Penner 33 Texas ** Maude Penner 29 Texas ** Theda B Penner Daughter 10 Texas ** Clara J Penner 6 Texas ** Clinton M Penner 3 Texas ** Ivy Claudine Penner 1 Texas
1940 Census • Waxahachie, Ellis, Texas, USA - Maude Penner 39 Texas ** Clara Jane Penner 16 Texas ** Clinton Monroe Penner 13 Texas ** Iva Claudine Penner 11 Texas ** Robert Edward Penner 8 Texas (Maude's occupation: Field Supervisor - Housekeeping Project)
3rd Husband: Joseph Sullivan - It is believed that he died around 1963 of pneumonia.
Texas Death Index, 1964-1998 - Maude Molee Sullivan - 02 May 1988, Dallas, Texas, United States
There is a birth certificate for Claude M Perno (Penner) with parents as Albert and Maude Perno (Penner), born 15 Sep 1926 • Waxahachie, Ellis, Texas, United States. Question 4 on the birth certificate ask 'Twin, Triplet or other'. Twin and Triplet are crossed out leaving 'other' visible. Question 5 ask 'Number in order of birth'. Written in is 3rd. Question 20 & 21 ask 'number of children born to this mother and number of children now living'. 3 born, 2 living.
I then found another birth certificate for a name change on Clinton Morrise Pemser - name changed from Cleve M./Pemser. So, my guess is that Clinton Morrise and Claud M are the same people as Clinton Monroe Penner. Still doesn't explain the one decease child if Maude had 3 children (Theda, Clara and Clinton) and all were living in 1926.
Maude comes from Cherokee bloodline. From stories that she told me, her grandmother, Sarah Ann Davis was full blooded Cherokee.
