PILGRIMAGE OF FOUR SCORE YEARS ENDED
A life that covered a span of more than four score years was closed early today
with the death of Miss Emilia (sic) Albrecht, pioneer resident, who passed away
at her home 2102 Washington street after an illness of only two weeks. Miss
Albrecht's death was due to age, but she had been seriously ill for but a few
days.
The funeral will be held from the late home Saturday afternoon at 2, with
interrment (sic) at Evergreen.
Born in Germany February 7, 1843, Miss Albrecht came to America (with parents)
and Manitowoc county fifty-two years ago and had since resided here. For many
years she made her home at Two Rivers and later in this city where she conducted
a millinery shop on South Eighth street in the building now occupied by Robert
Lill. She had for years made her home adjacent to the home of her niece, her
only surviving relative here.
Miss Albrect leaves no immediate relatives, her closet of kin being nephews and
nieces of whom there are Mrs. A.J. Braxmeier, this city; Emma, Laura and Bertha
Kahlenberg, Two Rivers; Louis Kahlenberg, Madison and Richard Kahlenberg of
Chicago.
