Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at Kays Funeral Chapel in Eldon for John M. Bowlin, who passed away Thursday, October 2nd, at the age of 76 years. Rev. Williams officiated and interment was in the Riley Lamm Cemetery.

Mr. Bowlin was born in Cole County, June 22, 1871, the son of John and Margaret Bowlin. On June 2, 1899 he married Anna Victoria Crisp, and to this union 5 children were born, two of whom preceded him in death, Minnie Lee in infancy and William Albert at the age of three.

Surviving, besides the widow, are two daughters, Mrs. Opal Singleton, and Mrs. Wilma Whittmore and a son, Wallace, all of Kansas City. In addition to the above he leaves to mourn his passing, a brother, Robert Edward of Kaiser; a half brother, Dan of Blue Springs; a sister, Mrs. Stella Bentley of Tulsa, Oklahoma; 2 half-sisters, Mrs. Guy Mosley and Mrs. Myrtle Bunch of Blue Springs. Four brothers and two sisters preceded him in death. He will be sadly missed by his 7 grandchildren and a host of other relatives. He will be long remembered by all who knew him for his kindness.
