Services were held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Jones Funeral Home with Rev. Douglas Tharp officiating. Burial was in the Oregon Township Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established.
Mr. McFARLAND was born in Sterling, Illinois, on February 1, 1928, a son of Robert E. and Katherine KLACKENGA-McFARLAND. he was reared and attended schools in Ainsworth, where he lived since 1932. He married Frieda RABENOLD in Kalona on November 27, 1954.
He was a Marine Corps veteran of the Korean conflict and was a member of the American Legion in Ainsworth and V.F.W. in Riverside.
Mr. McFARLAND was a member of the Ainsworth United Church and worked as a construction worker, last employed by Reschly Construction of Olds.
Survivors include his wife, Frieda of Ainsworth; two step-daughters, Sandy KNIGHT of Washington and Vicki MAXSON of West Branch; four sisters, Irene (Mrs. Blain) HAWKINS of Burlington; Phillis (Mrs. Robert) LOPSHIRE of Ainsworth; Delores (Mrs. Ben) COLEMAN of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; Wilma (Mrs. Dale) HUMPHREYS of Minot, North Dakota; four brothers, Walter, Jack, Richard and Bill, all of Ainsworth; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Rita, and two brothers, Jim and Bruce.
