MR. ROBERT L. BOWMAN, JR., age 83, of Perry Drive-Summerville, Georgia passed away Friday (October 8, 2010) evening in a Rome hospital. A native Chattoogaian He was born to the late Robert L. Bowman, Sr. and Foye Powell Bowman on May 27, 1927. Mr. Bowman was a member of Summerville First Baptist Church, a Veteran of WW II serving in the Marine Corps Aviation, and was retired Supervisor for the U.S. Postal Service in Summerville.
Surviving are brother & sister-in-law-Evan D. and Doris Bowman of Summerville; niece-Becky Burns of Rome; nephews-Randy & Kay Bowman and Tim Suzann Bowman all of Summerville; great nieces and nephews-Kyle Bowman, Haley Bowman, Jennifer Bowman, Kelsey Bowman, Jacob Bowman, & Will Bowman; great great niece & nephew-Madison Rogers, Talen, & Noah Bowman.
Funeral services will be held Monday (October 11th) at 2:00 P.M. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Dr. Kenneth Summey officiating, interment in Greenhills Memory Garden. Active Pallbearers Randy Bowman, Tim Bowman, Kyle Bowman, Jacob Bowman, Winfred Bowman, Will Bowman, Billy Gilreath, Buddy Gilley.
