The family was from County Westmeath, Ireland.
William Graham purchased 40 acres of property near Clayton, NJ. After only 3 months in the USA, on July 29, 1851, he succumbed to typhoid fever leaving his 4 children alone.
His 5th child, Elizabeth, did not arrive with him. I (Ginger Graham Smith) have been unable to locate her emigration date. At some point, however, she emigrated to the USA, married William Downs and is buried next to her father.
His other 4 children, including my great-grandfather, John C. Graham, relocated to Menard County, IL and are buried there.
