Choteau Acantha (MT), 25 June 2003

Choteau resident Kari Ione Aardal, 39, formerly of Havre, died June 18, 2003, at Benefis East in Great Falls of complications of diabetes.

The funeral will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Choteau. A second funeral will be at 1 p.m., June 27, at Holland and Bonine Funeral Chapel with interment in Highland cemetery.

Kari was born April 8, 1964, in Havre, the daughter of David and Myrna (Knudsvig) Aardal. She became a diabetic at age 4 while living in Bad Kissengen, Germany. As a military dependent, she traveled through Europe and Scandinavia, seeing much of the world. She graduated from Vincenza High School in Vincenza, Italy.

She aspired to be a marine biologist in her early years, but her health became a stumbling block. She loved marine life and all animals. She enjoyed camping, listening to music and working on her computer. She often did crafts with her sister, read and spent time with her family and cats.

Survivors include her parents, David and Myrna Aardal, of Choteau; and a sister of Reidun, of Fort Bragg, N.C.
