Major Leiciester Livingston Ferris (1896-1951), 55, of East Palatka, died suddenly early Monday morning in a St. Augustine hospital.

Funeral arrangements, which are incomplete, will be announced by Craig Funeral Hone, of St. Augustine.

Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Edith Hindman Ferris and three children, Jack, Jerry and Janet, of East Palatka; mother, Mrs. Thomas Symonette and a brother, Ross M. Ferris, Miami; sister, Mrs. P. J. Messervey, Elkton.

The deceased and his family resided in East Palatka for about a year, only a few months ago moving into their new home on the St. Johns River. They formerly lived in Miami. Palatka Daily News, Tuesday, 3 Apr 1951. Funeral services will be held at the Chapel of the Craig Funeral Home in the Ancient City, Thursday, at 2 p.m.. interment will be made in Evergreen Cemetery.

The deceased was born in Medina, Ky., and moved to East Palatka with his family about a year ago from Miami.

He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Palatka; a veteran of World War I and was a member of the VFW and American Legion.
