Ethel Marie Beougher was born July 31, 1920, on the family farm near Healy in Lane County, Kansas, to William Harvey "Harv" and Pauline (Haverfield) Anderson. She passed away December 4, 2000, in the Hays Medical Center, St. Anthony Campus, at Hays, Kansas, at the age of 80 years, 4 months, 3 days.

Ethel was a 1938 graduate of Gove Rural High School at Gove, Kansas. On January 22, 1939, she was united in marriage with Clellan O. beougher at Wakeeney, Kansas. He passed away June 27, 2000.

Ethel was a homemaker. She also was past owner of the Gove Cafe, past bus driver for Wheatland School District #292, and was librarian at the Gove Library.

Ethel was a sports enthusiast. She loved her children and grandchildren dearly, and missed few of the sporting events they participated in.

Ethel was a member of the United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, and the Gove Senior Center, all of Gove. She was a member of the Strike & Spare Bowling League of Oakley, the Clotilda Club, and the former Stitch and Chatter Club, both of Gove. Ethel was a past board member of the Gove Community Improvement Association.

Survivors include four sons, William "Bill" and wife, Joyce, James "Jim" and wife, Sheila, Steve and wife, Janette; all of Gove, and Philip of Hays; three daughters, Shirley Walker and husband, Roby, of Lathrop, MO. Judy Zerr and husband, Delbert, of Salina, and Suzi Goetz and husband, Stan, of Dodge City; twenty grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; two brothers, Bill Anderson and wife, Thelma, of Warsaw, MO, Cecil Anderson and wife, Ruth, of Brighton, CO; two sisters, Laura Alexander and husband, Pete, of Cash, AR, and Joan Long and husband, Ron, of Council Grove, KS.

She was preceded in death by five brothers, Raymond, Robert, Carl, John and infant George Anderson.

Ethel will be lovingly remembered by her family and friends for many years to come.
