A graveside service for Margaret E. Dixon of McMinnville will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the Hopewell Cemetery.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Community of Christ Church, Portland.

The chapel of Macy & Son Funeral Directors, McMinnville, will be open for visitation from noon to 7 p.m. Friday.

Mrs. Dixon died Sept. 9, 2003, in the Sheridan Care Center. She was 68.

She was born May 4, 1935, in Pendleton, the daughter of George Lawrence and Margaret Elizabeth Marple Bradley. As a young girl she moved to Seaside, where she graduated from high School She later moved to Walla Walla, Wash., where she worked at the Bon March* department store.

She and Leonard Dixon were married Dec. 31, 1954, in Walla Walla.

She moved to McMinnville in 1955. She worked as an office assistant for Oregon Mutual Insurance Co., McMinnville, for two and a half years. She moved in 1958 to Milwaukie. She worked as an office assistant for Nationwide Insurance. She then was an office assistant for Ford Industries for eight years and worked as a fabric clerk at Fabricland.

She moved back to McMinnville in 1996. She belonged to Community of Christ Church, where she taught Sunday school for many years. She also belonged to the Bustle Bumpers, a square dance group.

Mrs. Dixon enjoyed cooking, hiking, camping, sewing and gardening. She enjoyed playing the organ and was an organist for many years. She also liked buying gifts for her family.

Survivors include her husband; three sons, David Dixon and Robert Dixon, both of Milwaukie, and Steve Dixon of Clovis, N.M.; seven grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by two brothers.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Community of Christ Church Youth Group in care of Macy & Son, 135 N.E. Evans St., McMinnville, OR 97128.
