James Edward Curry was born in Shelby county, IL, May 10, 1864; died at his home in Ash Grove, Jun. 16, 1890. He united with the Christian church under the preaching of Eld. A. H. Harrell in Sep 1883. He lived a consistent Christian life, full of faith and hope in God, and as he came near to the door of death he expressed a willingness to depart and be with Christ. The funeral service was held at Ash Grove church, Jun. 16, conducted by Eld. Harrell, in the presence of a large and sympathetic audience. The remains were buried in the Ash Grove cemetery.
