Irene Givens, 94, died Thursday, November 11, 1993 in San Diego, California.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, November 19, 1993 at the Victory Temple Full Gospel Church, Wellington with Elder A. T. Anderson of Amarillo; Rev. R.L. Hunnicutt, Rev. Charles Mathis and Brother Joe Thomas, all of Wellington, officiating.

Burial was in North Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home.

She was born July 8, 1899 in Ladonia to Jim and Florence Boyd. In 1918, she married Elder A. Mathis. She later married John Givens in 1934 in Wellington. She was a homemaker and a member of the Holy Sanctuary Church of God in Christ for over 40 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elder A. Mathis in 1926; her second husband, John Givens in 1982 and two sons, James and Charles Ray Mathis.

She is survived by two sons, Ernest Mathis of Wellington and Curtis Givens of Tacoma, Washington; two daughters, Ruth Ann Random of Mesa, Arizona and Bobbie Nell Pipkins of San Diego, California; three sisters, Ersel Hopkins and Clarice Boyd, both of Pampa and Perlee Davis of Wellington and 38 grandchildren.
