---Funeral services for Donald Raymond Crawford will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday (March 19, 1988) at the Pollock Funeral Chapel in LaPlata. The Rev. Bob Swanson, minister of the LaPlata Christian Church, will officiate. Trudy Pollock will sing "God Will Take Care of You" and "The Old Rugged Cross" accompanied by Rosina Berry organist.
---Bearers will be Larry Fletcher, Noel Crawford, Bob Crawford, Richard Crawford, Henry Eitel and Eugene Stumph.
---Mr. Crawford, 83, of La Plata, died at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday (March 16, 1988) at Kirksville Manor Care Center where he had resided since Dec. 22, 1987.
---Born Sept. 7, 1904 near Gibbs in Adair county, he was the son of John Leston and Leota Belle (Selby) Crawford. On Jan. 1, 1924 in Kirksville, he married Virgil Bernice Allen who survives.
---Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Bob (Roma Jean) Ropp of Alturas, Calif.; a grandson, David Crawford Ropp and a granddaughter, Heather Coe Ropp.
---Mr. Crawford was a lifelong resident of the La Plata area where he was engaged in farming and owned and operated the Crawford Produce Company for many years. He also owned and operated the Allis Chalmers Implement Company until his retirement in 1965.
---Mr. Crawford served three terms as mayor of LaPlata from 1960 until 1966. He was a member of the LaPlata Christian Church, the LaPlata Golf Club and LaPlata Lodge No. 237 A.F.& A.M.
