Faye Dean Matheny Latta, 84, of Mountain Home, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, September 2, 2010. Mrs. Latta was born March 1, 1926, at Ravenden, Arkansas, to Orvil and Maude Northcutt Matheny. She married Buford Robert Latta on March 6, 1948, and was a loving and devoted wife of 58 years. She was employed as a Ward Secretary at the V.A. Hospital in North Little Rock and retired in 1977. She lived in Jacksonville, Arkansas, before moving to Mountain Home in 1998. She was of the Baptist faith.

Faye Latta is survived by 2 daughters, Karen (Robert) Troeger, Mountain Home, AR; Susan (James) Toburen, McAlester, OK; 4 sisters, Maurine Taylor, Perryville, AR; Mary Nuss, Papillion, NE; JoAnn Riggs, Greenwood, AR; and Carolyn Kenney, Searcy, AR; and 1 brother, Lloyd Matheny, Perryville, AR; 6 grandchildren, Kimberly (James) Harris, Titusville, FL; Christopher (Maria) Troeger, Little Rock, AR; Michael Troeger, Little Rock, AR; Jennifer (Andrew) Schafer, Ankeny, IA; James (Sydney) Toburen, Broken Arrow, OK; Charles Toburen, Dallas, TX; and 5 great-grandsons and 1 great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Buford Robert Latta; her parents; two sisters, Madge DeVice and Monarie Eagle; and two brothers, Bartus Matheny and Darrell Matheny.

Visitation will be Sunday, September 5, 2010, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 6, 2010, at the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in Jacksonville, Arkansas. Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House, 701 Burnett Drive, Mountain Home, AR 72653.

She will be remembered as a caring and loving mother and grandmother who loved flower gardening and bird watching.
