US Congressman. Successful in the glass manufacturing business, he was executive of the National Bottle Blowers' Association, (1892-1912). He also served as a member of the Missouri State House of Representatives, (1892-96). In 1914, he successfully contested as a Democrat the election of Leonidas C. Dyer to the Sixty-third Congress and served until 1915. An unsuccessful candidate for reelection, served as a government labor conciliator, in 1916.
