G. Bowdoin Craighill Jr., 88, a Washington lawyer, officer in the Episcopal Church and decorated combat veteran of World War II, died of complications related to a massive bacterial infection April 7 at Doctors Hospital in Lanham.
Mr. Craighill practiced law in Washington for more than 60 years, specializing in trusts and estates. He began his legal career in the 1930s and continued practicing until shortly before his death. Most recently, he was with the firm of Craighill Mayfield Fenwick Cromelin & Cobb. He was the son and son-in-law of lawyers. His father, George Bowdoin Craighill, practiced law in the Washington area. Robert Jackson, the former Supreme Court justice and U.S. attorney general, was his father-in-law.
