Was the son of Samuel D. Hinkle and Solara L. Benedict Hinkle. He first was married to Elsie M. Clark in 1874 and widowed in 1878, leaving two small daughters, Luna and Ina. Later Married Alice Boone in 1885 and from this union four sons were born. He was a farmer in Woodbridge Twp, Hillsdale County, Michigan.

Obit: EDGAR HINKLE was born at Delaware, Ohio, September 29th, 1848 and passed away Feb 19, 1920 aged 71 years, 4 months and 20 days. He was married to Miss Elsie Clark, Feb 22, 1874, who departed this life March 3rd, 1878, leaving two small daughters, Mrs. Luna Shaw of North Adams and Mrs Ina Scoville of Adams Township. He later married to Miss Alice Boone, Dec. 19th, 1884, to this union four sons were born. Mylon and Earl of Cambria, Dean who resides on the home farm and Don of Hillsdale, besides his wife and children he leaves 21 Grandchildren, 1 great Grandchild, 6 brothers, 3 sisters and a host of friends to mourn his loss. Burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery.
