Ray Webb was driving a delivery truck for the Star Candy Company when it collided with a another truck.
He was a son of Mr. & Mrs. Serug Webb, and was married to Nellie Lowdermilk. They had a three-year-old son.
His funeral was conducted at North Morganton Methodist Church by the Revs. J.M. Varner. & C.N. Royal.
According to his obituary in the Morganton News Herald, Webb was an industrious young man.
He was also survived by brothers and sisters: Mrs. Albert Dula, Janie Webb, Mrs. J.P. Digh, Bob Webb, Lester Webb, Joe Webb, Ruby Webb, Charlie Webb, Tice Webb, Mrs. Roscoe Hendricks, Rosella Webb, Marshall Webb, Tina Webb, Mae Webb, Jacob Webb, and Grace Webb. A brother, Columbus, had been killed in a bridge construction accident in 1927.
