Elmer Eugene was the son of Ida (Leibundgut) and William Henry Thon, born and raised in Belleville Illinois. In 1943 he enlisted in the US Army and served in Europe. He is preceded in passing by his parents; sister Lillian, brothers Raymond, and William "Lee" . He is survived by sister Irene.
