Everett Stone, Jr., 75, husband of Joanna Riffe Stone, died Fri., Dec. 7, 2007 at Central Baptist Hospital. Born Sept. 15, 1932 in Carter County, KY, he was the son of the late Everett Stone, Sr. and Lucy Rodgers Stone. Mr. Stone was a retired heavy equipment operator and was later employed by Kearney Hills Golf Links retiring in 2005. Survivors other than his wife include his children, James Everett (Sharon) Stone and Allison (Nick) Ransom, both of Lexington; grandchildren, Jami Machelle Potter, Megon Alissa Potter, Ronald Eric Potter, Megan Nicole Ransom, Noah Everett Stone, and Benton James Stone; a great grandchild, Cassidy Alyssa Potter; and four sisters, Mary (Randall) Everman and Pearl Atkins, both of Grayson, KY, Monnie Smith, Van Wert, OH, and Marie (Jerry) Giar, Kansas City, MO. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Ralph Stone, Chester Stone, George Stone, Ova Stone, and Jack Stone; and one sister, Gertrude Bagley. Funeral services will be 12:30 pm Mon. at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Harrodsburg Rd. by George Steele. Burial will follow in Lexington Cemetery. Visitation will be 3-7 pm Sun.
