Mum and dad had been friends with lily and Ossie for years, and when I was a child I can remember going out for days with them. They had three daughters Patricia, Pauline and Christine. In those days, we went to places like new brighton and blackpool which were all we could afford then. My dad and ossie used to go out on dads motorbike when he came around, and mum, lil and us children used to stay in our house and watch telly.

I loved going to their house because I was allowed to stay up late and watch Telly.
Ossie took my brother across the mersey on a boat that sailed frequently called 'The Woodchuch' which cost the princely sum of 2d or tuppence,(Two pennies, decimal) he was only two then.

I remember the day we were told that Ossie had died.
Both he and his wife lily were waiting at a bus stop to go and see their neice, when Ossie had had a massive heart attack. Nothing could be done to save him, no Paramedics in those days. He was only 43. I used to see his grave when I was living In England. One day I will go back and get more details, such as a pic of the headstone. its such a long time now since he died.
