Mrs. Agnes Melcher, widow of William H. Melcher passed away Friday, December 30, 1966. Funeral services were held from
Annunciation Catholic Church in Frankfort Kansas, Monday, January 2, 1967.
Mrs. Melcher, the former Agnes Burke was born south of Frankfort, Kansas near Lillis, Kansas on June 29, 1879. She married William Melcher in April of 1898. They spent most of their married life in or near Frankfort, except for a period from 1940 to 1953 when they resided in Glena, Kansas. Mr. Melcher retied and they returned to Frankfort in the spring of 1953. Mr. Melcher preceded his wife in death in November of 1958.
Mrs. Melcher is survived by three daughters and one son; Mrs. Louis Hough, Lawrence, Kansas, Mrs. Sophia Whiehurse, Hemet, California, Mrs. Monica Schreiber, Kansas City, Missouri; Mr. Paul Burke, Kansas City, Missouri; one son, William H. Melcher Jr., passed away at four years of age. She is also survived by one sister and two brothers; Mrs.
Kate Anderson, Marysville, Kansas, Mr. Peter Burke, Frankfort, Kansas and Mr. John Burke, Comus, Maryland.
