"Soldiers Home Notes"
After a long suffering, death came to the relief of Comrade John W. Rounds, late of Company D, 69th Illinois Infantry, on Monday evening. He was a native of Pennsylvania and was 67 years of age at the time of his admittance to Burkett, December 14, 1911. By occupation he was a farmer from Antelope county. The remains were shipped to Tilden, Neb., for interment. He leaves a wife, a member of this institution, to mourn his loss. To her who has so carefully and tenderly watched over her husband during his suffering, the deepest sympathy is extended by the members at Burkett in her hour of sorrow.
