Denzel Starcher,77, of Cottageville,passed away peacefully Wednesday,October 13,2010,at his home surrouded by his wife and children.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Darrell and Addie Painter Starcher of Given; ad his brothers, Junior Stacher of Given,W.Va. and Ike Starcher of Cincinnati,Ohio.
Denzel retired from nion Carbide Technical Center after 33 years. He was a Korean War Veteran who enjoyed huning, fishing and was an avid foxhunter.
Denzel is survivied by his wife of 27 years, Carolyn Sue Starcher; daughters, Teresa Brick(Doug) of Ripley and Mitzie Simms(Tom) of Charleston;sons, Denzil Ward(Christy)of Poca, Paul Gillespie(Beth)of Parkersburg and Todd Gillespie(Helen) of Pakersburg; brothers, Gilbert Starcher(Shirley) of Given, Danny Starcher(Phyllis) of Poca, Donal Starcher(Mona) of Liberty, Troy Starcher(Edna) of Canal Winchester,Ohio,Chuck Starcher(Neida) of Nashville,Tenn., and Johnny Starcher(Barbara) of Sandyville; sisters, Jean Casto Miller of Cottageville, Janet Casto of Ripley, Sue Greenhill(Dave) of Philo,Ohio, and Nancy Parker(Marvin) of Columbus,Ohio; grandchildren, Jason Brick(Arysta) of Mt. Airy,N.C.,Jeremy Brick of Ripley, Shawn and Aaron Simms of Charleston, Tyler Gillespie of Cross Lanes, Nate and Coleton Gillespie of Parkersburg, Tori and Seth Ward of Poca, and Seth Gillespie of Pakersbur.
Service will be 1 p.m Saturday, October 16,2010, at Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley. Burial will follow in the Jackson County Memory Gardens.Friends may call the funeral home from 6 to 9 p.m,Friday, October 15,2010. Waybright Funeral Home will be servin the family.
Memorial donations may be made to Hubbard Hospice House.
