GEORGE W. BALDWIN-Funeral services will be held at 1 P.M. today from Holman & Lutz Mortuary for George W. Baldwin, 78, one-time member of the volunteer fire department and retired from the city service after 29 years in the regular force.

Rev. Oswald W. Taylor, rector of Grace Memorial Episcopal Church, will conduct the services. Interment will be Lone Fir Cemetery.

Mr. Baldwin was appointed in 1890, resigned in 1902, was reappointed in 1906, resigned in 1908 and was appointed again in 1912. He was born November 23, 1862, in Hancock County, Illinois, and his family came to Oregon the next year.

He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Katherine Clarke and Mrs. Gertrude Rall, both of Portland. Pallbearers will be from the fire bureau.
