Tyre "Tiny" Ramsey was the son of Isham Ramsey and Frances Whatley. He enlisted as a private in the 34th Alabama Infantry, Company I at Loachapoka in June 1862. In April 1865, Tyre was discharged from the CSA as a private. He later drew a pension for his service.
