Mrs Steele was born 14 Jun 1770, in Augusta Co VA, baptised in the Tinkling Spring Church, and removed with her parents to Carolina after the Revolution... member of the Presbyterian Church (eulogy).
THE KEOWEE COURIER. Issue of Saturday 7 Dec 1850. Died, suddenly, on the 13th Nov, Mrs Esther Steele, who was many years an inhabitant of this town. Mrs Steele was born 14 Jun 1770, in Augusta Co VA, baptized in the Tinkling Spring Church in that county and removed with her parents to Carolina after the Revolution. She has been a consistent member of the Presbyterian church for nearly a half century and has well sustained the character and profession she assumed. She died at the advanced age of 80 years, as she had lived, full of faith and good works, and calmly awaiting the coming of her Lord. "Pendleton Messenger".
