Izola M. Roof, 92, LaFontaine, died at 1:55 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 1, 2011, in Rolling Meadows Health Care Center, LaFontaine.
She was born in Marion on Feb. 20, 1918, to the late Ray C. and Margaret (Smith) Weaver. She married Joseph G. Benner on 24 Jun 1945 in Grant Co., Indiana and he preceded her in death in 1961. In 1971, she married Joseph E. Roof, who also preceded her in death in 1995.
Izola lived most of her life in LaFontaine until moving to Wawasee Lake in 1971. She worked at Delta Electric and Marion Cafeteria. She was a member of LaFontaine United Methodist Church and was a former member of the Ashland Rebecca Lodge.
Surviving are one son, Robert R. (Phyllis) Benner, Grabill; three grandsons, Jim, Joe and Brad Benner; and six great-grandchildren, Emily, Ariel, Anderson, Olivia, Brodie and Jack Benner. Also preceded in death are two sisters, Elizabeth Losure and Helen Weaver.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Services, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., with Pastor Brad Garrett, Marion, officiating. Burial is in Estates of Serenity Cemetery.
