Nancy Jean Ward, 52, of Montgomery, IL, formerly of Walnut Creek, CA died after a brief battle with cancer on Monday, December 3, 2001 at Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora, IL. She was born April 5, 1949 in Blue Island, IL.
Nancy attended school in Oswego graduating in 1966 from the Oswego High School and going on to Northern Illinois University School of Nursing. She had formerly worked in nursing at the John Muir of Hospital in Walnut Creek, CA, John Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD and was presently a nurse case manager for Lewisco Inc. in Lombard, IL. She was a member of the Neighborhood Church of the Brethren in Montgomery, IL.
She is survived by two sons, Christopher Ward of Middleton, WI, Jason Ward of Oakland, CA; her parents, Herbert and Janette Given of Montgomery, IL; a sister, Karin (Patrick) Dowd of Montgomery, IL; a brother, Ronald (Carla) Given of Oswego, IL; a niece, Ashley Given; two nephews, Aaron Given, Sean Dowd and her loving, devoted pets, Sammy, Sasha, Monaty and Tina.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Raymond and Margaret Hessinger and paternal grandparents, Herbert and Ella Given.
Visitation will take place on Sunday, December 9, 2001 at the McKeown-Dunn Funeral Home, Ltd. at 210 Madison St. in Oswego, IL from 1 to 4 p.m. at which time a funeral service will be conducted by Rev. Jerry Webster.
Cremation will be accorded the wishes of the family at River Hills Memorial Park.
Memorials may be directed to either the Kendall County Food Pantry or the Hesed House.
