This is my great grandmother. My dad's grandmother. She is the mother of my grandmother Julia Martinez Rodriguez. Julia and Porfiria are buried together however, the marker only reflects Julia's name.

Porfiria was born September 14, 1886 in Arizona. She is the daughter of Jesus M. Pina (Ramon) and Sebastiana Ballesteros. Those are the names listed on her death certificate.

She married Jose Guadalupe Tanori Martinez in Phoenix Arizona, Maricopa County on April 29, 1903. Jose went by the name of Guadalupe Martinez. Their children were Baby Boy Martinez (1903-1903), Beatriz (1906-1912) Adalia (1908-1947), John (1909-1909), Guadalupe (1911-1911), Raymundo (1912-1983), Julia (my grandmother; on her birth certificate it says she is the 7th child to be born, but only the third one to live. (1914-1956), Henry (1916-1976), Mary (1920-1996), and Thresa (information unknown).

Porfiria later remarried to Eduardo Vasquez on January 24, 1922. Her youngest daughter was 2 years old. My grandmother was 8.

Porfiria died of pneumonia at the age of 49, and is buried with Julia.

My deepest Thanks to Maureen for sponsoring my Great Grandmother's grave.
