Mabel I. (Stewart) Allen, 90, of 1441 Butler Ave., died in Haven Convalescent Home on Sunday at 2:15 a.m. after a lingering illness.
She was born in New Castle on June 26, 1880 to the late Homer and Sarah DeArmond Stewart. She was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Thomas E. (Mildred) Sweet of New Castle; two sisters, Mrs. Clara Lytle of Youngstown and Mrs. Geneva Gardner of New Castle; two grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, William J. Allen, two sisters and a brother.
Friends may call at Robert A. Myers Home for Funerals, 208 N. Jefferson St., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A service will be held tomorrow at 3 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Duane Johnson of First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be at Eastbrook UP Cemetery.
