Will Hayter was the eldest of three sons born to John and Janie Hayter. He was born in Polk County, MO, near Eudora. MO. John Hayter died about a month before Will's 14th birthday. Will was inducted into the army at Bolivar, MO. on Feb 26, 1918 and was discharged 5-27-1919. He returned to his mother's home where he spent the rest of his life farming. He never married.
