Daniel Stephen Lieber was born Daniel Stephen Liebnitz and during World War II, he and his wife and son had an official surname change. He was a salesman during the war, and sole support of his family and extended family - his mother and many other family members. His father was German so he had a German surname which was a problem since we were at war with Germany. His only sibling, a brother, was Paul W. Liebnitz.

Daniel was a very kind man and was loved by everyone. He began working as a very young man in a photo supply store which later was bought out by Kodak. He was employed by Kodak since it began. In the 1940's he became the Manager of Eastman Kodak Stores in Sioux City, Iowa, and later in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma for many years. He retired from Kodak in the 1970's having worked in the photography business for over 50 years.

He married Ada Viola Claiborne and, in 1939, they adopted a son who they named Daniel William Lieber. Daniel and his wife, Mary Ellen Fallwell, gave them two wonderful grandchildren who they loved very much.

They lived out their lives in Oklahoma City. Daniel died about 16 years before his son passed away in 1999, then Ada, being quite elderly, was moved to Van Buren, Arkansas to be cared for by her granddaughter until her death in August of 2000.
