James Reynolds Lyman passed away June 6, 2001 in Provo, Utah.

Memorial services will be Saturday, June 9, 3 p.m., Ephraim 2nd Ward Chapel, 400 East Center Street, Ephraim, Utah. There is a viewing prior to the funeral from 1:45 to 2:45 p.m. at the Chapel. Interment will be in the Ephraim City Cemetery. Military will be provided by American Legion Post 31 of Manti.

Reynolds was born December 6, 1916 in Teasdale, Utah to Amasa Lyman and Fannie Mae Stewart. He married Watie Clara Rauzon February 3, 1942 in Salt Lake City. Marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple August 22, 1949.

Reynolds had many fond memories of growing up logging, fishing and hunting on Boulder Mountain. His parents operated of a small saw mill on the Boulder and later he worked near Kamas logging with his own young family. He was a carpenter by trade and enjoyed working with wood. After moving to Ephraim, he enjoyed being on the West Mountains herding sheep for a local farmer and worked many odd jobs as a carpenter and handy man. He and his wife spent 15 years in California before moving back to Ephraim in 1983 to retire. He was a member of the Ephraim 2nd Ward before moving to the Oakview Living Center in Provo.

Reynolds was preceded in death by his parents, lovely wife Watie Clara Rauzon, sons James Reynolds Lyman, Jr. and David Fred Lyman and four sisters. He is survived by his children James E. (Darlene) Lyman of Mesa, AZ; and Carolyn Hodges, Salt Lake City; daughter-in-law Catherine Lyman, Ephraim; nine grandchildren, an abundance of great-grandchildren and one sister Bessie (Melvin) Whiting, Nebraska.

Services are under the direction of Ursenbach Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant.
