THE RED BANK REGISTER February 22, 1933

James F. Ayres, a life-long resident of Little Silver, died last Saturday afternoon at his home. He was 86 years old. Mr. Ayres was a painter by trade and had retired about ten years ago. Besides his wife, he is survived by five daughters, Mrs. John Moore and Mrs. William P. King of Little Silver, Mrs. A. Trumbull Smith and Mrs. George C. Worthley of Red Bank and Mrs. R. E. Flatley of Springfield, Missouri, and four sons, George and James F. Ayres, Jr., of Little Silver, William D. Ayres of Bayonne and Frank Ayres of Red Bank. Mr. Ayres was one of the oldest members of the Little Silver council of the Junior Order of United American Mechanics and the last rites of this lodge were administered yesterday. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon at his late home with Rev. Niles M. Poff and Rev. William H. Carhart, both of Little Silver, in charge. Burial, in charge of R. R. Mount & Son, was in Evergreen cemetery at Little Silver.
