Grover Cleveland "Mutt" Anderson, age 81, of the Bending Chestnut Community, passed away on Tuesday, December 9, 2008.

Mr. Anderson and his wife, Geraldine Fox, Anderson, have operated Fox Grocery in the Bending Chestnut Community for many years. He was a Deacon for 34 years and long time member of Craigfield Freewill Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army.

Preceded in death by parents, John Anderson (1883 - 1969) and Lizzie Anglin Anderson (1897 - 1966); brothers, Thomas, Randolph and Louis Anderson; sister, Ruby Baker.

Survived by wife of 59 years, Geraldine Fox Anderson; daughters, Jewel Dean Anderson, Gloria (Bryan) Dodd; son, Morris Anderson; grandson, Daniel (Jessica) and wife Jessica Anderson; great-grandchilden, Colton, Alyssa and Brooke Anderson; brother, J. C. (Gertrude) Anderson; sister, Audrey Baker; special caregiver, Janice Collins. Pallbearers: Daniel Anderson, Bryan Dodd. David Edwards, Roy Fox, Wayne "Buddie" Anderson, Sam Melton, Don Baker and John Baker. Honorary Pallbearers: Howard Anderson, Garfield Davis, Bowman Davis, Jr., T. C. Fox, Jr., William Hargrove, Harold Griggs, Joe Moss, Randy Whidby, Ralph Meacham, Robert Burns, Bill Hood, William Rainey, Jr., Dick Moss, Floyd Anderson, Rice Anglin, Ewell McCandless, Frank Fox and the members of Craigfield Baptist Church.

Visitation with the family was held 2-8 p.m. on Wednesday, December 10, 2008, at the Harpeth Hills Funeral Home, 9090 Highway 100, Nashville, Tennessee. Funeral services were conducted at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 11, 2008, in the Harpeth Hills Funeral Home Chapel. Interment followed at the Greenbrier Cemetery in Franklin, Tennessee. Arrangements completed by nephew, Jimmy Davis, owner of the Bills-McGaugh Funeral Home.
