Ann Arnold, 77 formerly of 534 Dogwood Drive, Eden, NC, passed away Thursday evening, September 23, in Columbia, SC where she lived the last six months of her life at Atria Assisted Living. She is preceded in death by her late husband of almost 40 years of marriage, David Treadwell Arnold.

Ann was born September 3, 1933 in Danville, VA, daughter of the late Annie Graves Francis Smith and Thomas Pinson Smith. She was a member of the Church of the Epiphany in Eden, NC. She attended Brenau College in Gainesville, GA, where she was active in her sorority, Alpha Chi Omega Tau Chapter. Later she graduated from Limestone College in Gaffney, SC with a Master's in biology and a minor in Art. Art was her passion and she taught art in public schools before opening Art World in Eden, NC.

She loved to draw from a very young age and later took up painting in school. She was talented in many other ways. Ann won numerous awards in other areas such as flower arranging and cooking. She had logic problems published in Games magazine, illustrated a published children's book, wrote and published mini mystery stories, was a member of MENSA, volunteered at the Eden Public Library, teaching illiterate adults to read, and also was a volunteer at Moorehead Hospital.

Ann was know for her laughter and love of life. She always found a way to bring a smile and laughter to others. She will be greatly missed on earth but welcomed into her Heavenly Home.
