Mrs. Rebetta J. Petter, 80, of Pentwater, died Monday, Feb. 11. She was born in Holland, on March 30, 1927. The former Rebetta Bezon married Compton Swanson, who preceded her in death in 1991 and she then later married Jay Clements Petter.
She was a great lover of animals. Losing her mother early in her life, Rebetta was raised by her aunt Gertrude. Mrs. Petter is survived by her husband, Jay Clements Petter of Pentwater; her children, Arthur (Linda) Swanson of Burlington, Vt., Victoria Fish of Lindsay, Okla. and Dwight (Lynn) Swanson of Hart; six grandchildren; stepchildren, Jamie (Phil) Michael of Richland, Stephanie (Rick) Garrett of Wilmington, N.C., Melinda (Tim) Pierson of Farmville, Va. and stepgrandchildren.
