He was born September 24, 1897 in Wood county, and was the son of Frank and Emma Jackson Gillman. He had lived his entire life in Wood county. He had been an employe of the American Viscose Corp. for 26 years, and was a chemical analyst until the time of this death.
He was a member of the Parkersburg Kiwanis club and attended the Epworth Methodist church.

Survivors include his wife, Ada Gillman, one son, Ju (ne Hard to Read) G. Gillman, Parkersburg, four sisters, Mrs. Spencer Creel, Parkersburg, Mrs. Clarence Headley, Parkersburg, Mrs. John R. Graf, Weirton, and Mrs. Paul Rinehart, Belmont, N.C., two grandchildren, Scott Douglas Gillman and Dianne Lee Gillman.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Leavitt funeral home with the Rev. Elmer Wilson officiating. Burial will be in the Mount Olivet cemetery.
