Ola Mae Douglas, 87, of Bryan, passed away Monday morning at St. Joseph Manor in Bryan. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday. October 21, 2010 at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan. Graveside services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday, October 22, 2010 at College Station Cemetery on Texas Avenue.

Ola Mae was born May 4, 1923 to James and Frances Blazek Turek in south Brazos County. She graduated from A&M Consolidated High School. She met John Douglas while he was stationed at Bryan Air Force Base and were married on October 5, 1944 and made Bryan their home.

Ola Mae was a devoted wife and mother and together in 1964, she and John opened Douglas Jewelers in downtown Bryan. They worked side by side, each day the business was open, until their retirement January 1, 1987. At that time, they were able to spend their time traveling or just piddling around the house, but always together.

Ola Mae was preceded in death by her parents, James and Frances Blazek Turek; and her brother, Eddie Turek.
