Crossville Chronicle May 22, 1952: Relatives from Crossville were in Harriman Sunday to attend funeral services for T.L. Cate, 74, who passed away in the Harriman hospital Friday, May 16. Services were held in the Trenton Street Baptist Church, of which Mr. Cate was a Deacon and Sunday school superintendent for the past 25 years. He was president and owner of the T.L. Cate Department Store for almost 50 years. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Ida Snow Cate; a daughter, Mrs. Sue Kelly and 2 grandchildren of Tarpon Springs, Fl; a brother, Ruben H., Harriman; 3 sisters, Mrs. Daisy Fowler, Asheville, NC; Mrs M.B. Everett, Washington, D.C.; Mrs. George P. Burnett, Crossville.
