Burlington Hawk Eye, Tuesday, June 8, 1993

Anna Matilda Brenneman, 82, of Conesville, died Sunday, June 6, 1993, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.

She was born Anna Matilda Swanson on Feb. 17, 1911, at Lone Tree, the daughter of A. Anton and Carolyn Johnson Swanson. She was a life-long resident of the Conesville area. She married Lester C. Brenneman on June 28, 1929, at Muscatine. He preceded her in death on January 7, 1987.

Survivors include two daughters, Joyce Westlake of Conesville and Linda Goldsberry of Racine, Wis.; two sons, Robert Brenneman, Racine, Wis., and Larry Brenneman, Orlando, Fla.; 17 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; a brother, Raymond Swanson, Lone Tree.

Matilda was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers, and one sister.

Funeral services for Mrs. Brenneman were today at the Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home in Columbus Junction. She was buried in the Nichols Cemetery in Nichols.

A memorial has been established at the funeral home.
