Clarence Ladd, Formerly of Estherville, Dies
Clarence E. Ladd, 68, formerly of Estherville, died yesterday at a Minneapolis hospital of cirrhosis of the liver after an illness of several months. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. W.A. Ladd, early residents of Estherville.

Mr. Ladd was born May 3, 1885, in Estherville. He attended Estherville schools and the University of Iowa. He was married June 17, 1908 to Alizanah Bachman, sister of Mrs. J.E. Stockdale. His business career included service with a real estate firm at Grand Forks and was for many years with the trust department of the First National bank of Minneapolis from which position he retired at the age of 65. Since that time he was employed by the J.M. Dain Investment company of Minneapolis.

He is survived by his widow, by a daughter, Mrs. Robert Borgwardt of Phoenix and two grandsons. There will be a memorial service Thursday at 4 p.m. in Minneapolis and interment will be later in the week at Oak Hill cemetery, Estherville. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, November 18, 1953)
