His early school days were passed at the Pine Knob school in North Lancaster township and for two years attended Lancaster high school, when he moved with his parents in 1902 to Blake's Prairie, where he lived for eight years.
On February 16, 1910 Clyde was united in marriage with Miss Elva Knapp and to that union were born eight children, Grace, Helen, Mildred, Lenice, Irene, Edith and Elmer. Marcia died in infancy.
All through their married life they have lived on the same farm, which has been in possession of the family for 84 years. Clyde's death closes a chapter of Bailie men who have worked with us at our farm tasks, and who met with us in our social gatherings. Once a living reality, now a memory; gone into the sunset of life and beyond.
The funeral services were held from the Hoskins Funeral Home to the M.E. church on Friday and burial took place in the Blake's Prairie cemetery near Bloomington."
