"A graveside funeral for Dewella J. Shepherd, 81, of Placerville will be held at 10 a.m. tomorrow at the Placerville Union Cemetery under the direction of Chapel of the Pines. Father Ellsworth Wayland will officiate.
Mrs. Shepherd died Dec. 17 at a local convalescent hospital. She was born in Carson City, Nev. and lived 68 years in California, the past 55 years in El Dorado County.
She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Shepherd was a member of the Diamond Springs Rebekah Lodge and a charter member of the Eagles Auxiliary.
She is survived by children Archie Shepherd and Audrey Shepherd, both of Alaska; Marvin Shepherd, Mrs. L. D. Rohrer and Noreene Plett, all of Placerville; Richard Shepherd and JoAnn Sindel, both of Forest Hill; Joe Shepherd, Jr. of Malaysia; Tom Shepherd of West Point; Barbara Pentz of Reno, Nev.; Junette Gaydon and Bill Shepherd, both of Auburn; 34 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren."
