Comer, Kenneth D. age 81, of Minnetonka, MN, passed away on Oct. 20, 2009. Born in Minneapolis on Valentine's Day 1928 to Kenneth N. & Alice Comer. He is survived by his wife, Joyce; sons, Joe (Mary), John (Julie) and Steve (Kathy); 6 granddaughters, Megan (Tom) Hicks, Rachel, Julia, Maggie, Lauren and Stephanie; brother, Richard (Dorothy) Comer. Ken married his high school sweetheart, Joyce Nelson, in 1950. He was a Korean War veteran serving in the 461st Ordinance Ammunition Company. His involvement with the American Legion included coaching the Excelsior Legion Post baseball team. He was the owner of the Kunkel Company. Ken greatly enjoyed his family's participation in many sports and was well-known as a fan of Minnetonka High School athletics. Ken was loved and will be missed by many. A Celebration of Life will take place Saturday, Oct. 24, 2009 at 3:00 PM at Huber Funeral Home Chapel, 16394 Glory Lane, Eden Prairie (1/2 mile S. of Hwy 5 on Co Rd 4). Visitation also Saturday from 1:00-3:00 PM also at Huber Funeral Home. Memorials preferred to the Miracles of Mitch Foundation, 105 Peavey Road, Ste 190, Chaska, MN 55318 or to the charity of the donor's choice.
