The death of Miss Abbie L. Higgins occurred at the home of her sister, Mrs. Emma Baxter, at Plainwell Sunday. She was born in Belvidere, N. Y., and from 1870 to twelve years ago resided in Otsego. In 1882 she went to Strandsburg, Pa., spending the summers north and the winters south. Two years ago her health was impaired by an attack of la grippe. She was in New Orleans last spring and returned to the home of her sister in June. Miss Higgins was formerly a teacher in the Otsego public schools and had many friends here. She was a sister of George D. Higgins. The funeral service was held at Plainwell Tuesday forenoon and burial took place in Mountain Home cemetery.
